About Me

Hello, my name is GMP van Diessen and I help people with practical strategies for self-reliance and emergency communication. In a time when we are becoming increasingly dependent on technology, it is crucial to understand how to communicate and survive without digital means. My book, The Universal Language of Silence in Crisis, is a practical reference work full of proven methods, historical insights and concrete step-by-step plans that you can apply immediately.

What was the trigger for this book?

The reliance on technology got me thinking: what if these systems suddenly became unavailable? This led to an in-depth investigation into symbols and secret communication systems that have been used throughout history. From the hobo codes of the Great Depression to code languages in wartime. I discovered that these techniques can still be relevant and necessary in times of crisis.

Through intensive source research into survival strategies and conflict zones such as the Great Depression of the 1920s, World War II, the Balkan Wars and contemporary conflicts such as Ukraine, a timeless system for emergency communication and self-reliance in extreme circumstances emerged. This book links historical knowledge to modern challenges such as the technocratic society in which we live.

What can you expect in this book?
The book contains many practical insights and checklists, including:
✅ Surviving in the city and nature – self-sufficient living, strategic movement, sign language
✅ Evacuation and emergency ration checklists – food supplies, bug out bags, survival strategies
✅ Alternative communication methods – Such as light signals, Morse code, mirror communication and many other forms
✅ Digital and AI – How AI and Alternative Communications Come Together
✅ Crisis Planning – How to Prepare for Uncertain Times
✅ Hobo Codes and Modern Applications – How Traditional and Unique Technocratic Symbols Are Useful Today
✅ Psychological resilience – staying mentally strong and thinking strategically in crisis situations

Why this book?
Whether you are a novice in emergency planning or a seasoned prepper, this book offers concrete tools to be prepared for situations where traditional means of communication fail. Cooperation in densely populated areas and psychological resilience are just as important as physical survival techniques. That is why this book combines theory, practice and proven strategies into a complete system.
